BELT RANK REQUIREMENTS FOR PROMOTION

Jump to: Beginner/Novice (First High White through High Yellow)
                Intermediate (Green through High Blue)
                Advanced (Red through High Brown)
First Degree Black Belt (First Dan/Poom)
Second Degree Black Belt (Second Degree Black Belt (Second Dan/Poom)

STUDENTS (and Parents) PLEASE NOTE:

The following requirements are only basic guidelines for promotion.

Students must meet all rank requirements, including others not listed here, must pass all pre-tests administered in class, and must be proficient in all required techniques before promotion is granted.

It is important that students understand that even though they might have met the required promotion criteria for a test, it does not mean that they are ready for promotion – they also have to be able and ready to move up to the next level of training.

Students will be tested on prior test requirements with each consecutive test and must demonstrate progress and improvement from their last test in order to be eligible for promotion.

Ultimately, the Instructors have the final say in all decisions pertaining to training, placement and promotion.

Also note: Students training only one day per week may need to attend additional sessions before being eligible and ready for promotion. Obviously, students attending class two or three times per week will enable them to gain and retain more knowledge than students attending only one day per week.

It is the student’s responsibility to practice as much as possible when not in class. Absences of 6 months or longer may require enrollment and re-evaluation in previous rank’s class upon return to training.
